Mikheil Sarjveladze, Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, visited the Georgian Wheelchair Workshop together with Deputy Minister Irine Tsakadze and parents of beneficiaries. During the visit, the Minister reviewed the products available at the facility and ознакомился with the process of manufacturing assistive devices.

The meeting focused on the development of the State Program for Social Rehabilitation and Child Care. It was noted that the program is expanding and will provide additional opportunities for beneficiaries.

In particular, within the sub-program “Provision of Assistive Devices,” the state will begin procuring personal lifters for individuals with rare neuromuscular diseases.

As a result of these changes, citizens will be able to use a voucher to receive a personal lifter free of charge, significantly simplifying the caregiving process.
