Wheelchair Assessment, Selection, and Fitting
The process of properly selecting and fitting a wheelchair ensures that the assistive device fully corresponds to the user’s individual needs and physiological characteristics. The service is provided by a qualified occupational therapist with the necessary knowledge and practical experience in wheelchair selection and individual adjustment.
The occupational therapist assesses the user’s needs in their home environment, completes the required assessment form, and, based on this information, selects the appropriate type of wheelchair together with the user.
After the wheelchair is manufactured, the user and their family members receive instructions on how to safely use, maintain, and operate the wheelchair. This ensures that the assistive device effectively contributes to improving the user’s level of independence.
